Tulum, Q.R. — Authorities made an arrest Thursday night after locating the pickup believed responsible for a highway hit and run. On Thursday, two teenage brothers were left for dead on the side of the road by a driver who kept going.

The incident happened Thursday evening on a section of federal highway approximately 23 kilometers south of the town of Tulum. Paramedics pronounced the 15 and 17 year old brothers dead at the scene.
Late Thursday, police found the pickup believed responsible. The heavily damaged vehicle was captured on C2 security cameras in Tulum on the back of a flatbed being towed toward Cancun.
Police in intercepted the tow truck on Tulum Avenue where they seized the silver F-150 pickup and the owner. In custody is a 29 year old male.
According to early information, during his detainment, the owner of the truck resisted. Police are investigating the driver and vehicle in relation to the hit and run accident that left two young men dead.

The two teens killed Thursday evening were brothers from the state of Chiapas. They were walking along the highway on their way to the town of Muyil to pick mangos.
