Cancun, Q.R. — A rolled semi completely blocked traffic on a section of highway west of Cancun Tuesday. The driver reportedly lost control and rolled his unit around 6:30 a.m., cutting off traffic in both directions.

Motorists came upon the overturned vehicle on a section of the Cancun-Puerto Morelos highway as the driver was reported heading to the city of Cancun.
Initial reports indicated that the driver was traveling from the town of Leona Vicario in the municipality of Puerto Morelos toward Cancun when he lost control and his tires grabbed the soft shoulder dirt.
The semi and trailer flipped and was left on its side after skidding along the highway, eventually come to a rest across both lanes.
National Guard personnel from the federal highway division were sent to sort out the chaos. Tow trucks were called in to upright the unit and remove it from the road. Highway traffic was blocked for several hours.
