Cancun, Q.R. — A car chase between criminals and Cancun police ended in the discovery of a dead body. Police found the body of a dead man stuffed inside the trunk of the car the criminals were driving.
On Friday, Municipal Police became involved in the chase of a vehicle when they attempted to pull the driver over due to a tarp hanging out of the trunk. When the driver failed to stop, a chase ensued.
The driver of the car finally stopped in the San Antonio neighborhood of Cancun around 1:50 a.m. where he drove for several meters with his headlights off in order to escape.
Both the driver and his passenger were able to make a run for it into the woods moments before police caught up with them.
At the scene, authorities found the tarp hanging out of the trunk had been used to wrap the body of a man. The man, who was found beaten, bound and gagged, was confirmed dead in the trunk.
The pair from inside the car were successful in escaping police, however, they left their identification behind. During a search of the interior of the car, police found two official pieces of government-issued identification.
Police are currently in search of Brayan Cornelio “N” and Jorge “N”, both of whom are believed to have been in the car at the time of the chase.
