Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A pedestrian was seriously injured early Sunday morning along a Riviera Maya highway. The man who was left laying on the road after being struck by a vehicle.
The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in a poorly lit section of road. According to initial reports, the pedestrian attempted to cross the road and was struck by a gray hatchback.
The hit threw the pedestrian into the vehicle’s windshield and then onto the pavement. Motorists stopped to help and call for an ambulance. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to hospital.
No official information has been released regarding his condition. The driver of the vehicle that hit the man was arrested from the scene.
Police have not identified those involved.
