Cozumel, Q.R. — The second victim of a recent Cozumel street shooting has died in an island hospital. He is the second to die from the targeted shooting that left one teenager dead at the scene.

Both men were shot in the targeted attack Thursday around 9:40 p.m. in the island’s Emiliano Zapata neighborhood. Neighbors said both men were on a sidewalk outside a house on 18th Street when they were shot by someone on a motorcycle.
According to available information, the 20 year old was taken to hospital in serious condition after being shot three times during the Thursday night attack. He died early Friday morning. He has been identified as Yadriel “N”.
The teenager killed in the same shooting, Luis “N”, was pronounced dead at the scene. He is said to have been a minor teen of around 16 years old.
According to sources, Yadriel “N” had previously been arrested for drug dealing, but was released from the Cozumel jail months before. Luis “N” had a record for motorcycle theft.
Local authorities have begun an investigation to determine the motive for the fatal attack that left two young islanders dead.
