Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a dead Canadian man found inside a Playa del Carmen apartment. The body of the man was found Sunday morning in an apartment building in the central Aviación neighborhood.
According to available information, the discovery of a 35 year old Canadian male was made Sunday morning in the downtown building at the intersection of 1 Sur Street and 20th Avenue.
Municipal police responded after being notified of the discovery of an “unconscious person” inside the unit.
The body was examined by private paramedics who confirmed his death inside the apartment.
According to preliminary reports from police, there were no apparent traces or signs of violence observed at the scene eliminating a criminal act as a possible cause of death.
Personnel from Forensic Services transferred the body for an autopsy. Police have not provided any information surrounding the circumstances of the death.
