Cuban man charged after causing Cancun hotel receptionist ‘profuse bleeding’

According to the State Attorney General, (FGE), a Cancun judge issued a formal indictment against Omar Luis “N”, a Cuban national, for aggravated injuries against a female victim.

“The events for which the now accused is being investigated allegedly occurred on August 29 of this year in a hotel located on Sunyaxchen Avenue, where the victim worked in the reception area,” they reported.

Initial investigations indicate that Omar Luis “N” went to the reception area to inform the receptionist about the theft of various belongings from his room.

When the woman got up to cross the room, the man followed her, “took a knife from one of his pockets, and used it to injure the victim, inflicting cuts to her neck and chest, causing profuse bleeding.”

The woman ran from the hotel to seek help. She was later admitted to a nearby Cancun hospital. Once released, she filed an official complaint which led to the arrest of Omar Luis “N”.

Police did not comment on a motive for the knife attack.
