Tulum, Q.R. — Police have captured two who have been charged in the murder an Akumal man and who are being investigated for killing a teen in Tulum. Police say Pedro Antonio “N” and Juan Carlos “N” were arrested earlier this month for drug and weapons possession.

Since their arrests, police said they have been charged with one murder and are being investigated for a second, both within the municipality of Tulum.
Authorities say they are being investigated for the November 8 shooting death of a teen in Tulum after being charged in the October 30 murder of a man in Akumal.
The State Attorney General’s Office reports that investigations continue into the aggravated homicide of a teenager, originally from the state of Yucatán, which occurred on November 8 of this year in an establishment located in the coastal area of Tulum.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that two male individuals, identified as Pedro Antonio “N” and Juan Carlos “N”, are being investigated for their probable participation of aggravated homicide and drug dealing.
In a statement, authorities reported that Juan Carlos “N” has been charged with aggravated homicide. He has been charged in the shooting death of an Akumal business owner that occurred on October 30th of this year outside a convenience store on Gonzalo Guerrero Avenue in Akumal.

His body was found laying outside a convenience store next to a restaurant that he owned.
According to police, Juan Carlos “N” allegedly shot and killed the victim. He then got into a Toyota vehicle driven by Pedro Antonio “N”, and they fled the scene.
At the time of their arrests on November 11, they were found in possession of various doses of drugs, as well as three firearms: two 9mm caliber handguns and one .223 caliber long gun, police reported.
According to ballistic reports, one of their guns matched the one used in the Akumal homicide.
Field investigations, office work and technological analysis established that both defendants are also allegedly related to the aggravated homicide of the teenager that occurred on November 8 of this year in the coastal area of Tulum.
“According to the line of investigation, the motive for this act would be related to disputes over the sale of narcotics since the victim allegedly belonged to a rival criminal group that operates in the region,” they said.

Pedro Antonio “N” and Juan Carlos “N” are under the precautionary measure of preventive detention, imposed for a term of two years or for the duration of the judicial process.
The State Attorney General’s Office reaffirms its commitment to truth and justice and states that the investigations will continue until the facts are fully clarified and all those responsible are brought to justice.
