Tulum, Q.R. — Police were at the scene of a fatal attack in Yaax Tulum Friday night in response to a street shooting. A man who had been shot at several times was found dead.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was in the street when he was ambushed by his attackers who opened fire. Neighbors reported hearing at least six gunshots.
Paramedics were called and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He had been hit three times about the head. Municipal police officers cordoned off the area for forensics to remove the body.
Several spent shell casings were collected as evidence. Residents said two men on a motorcycle were responsible for the attack.
So far, the identity of the deceased, who is reported to have been around 30, remains unknown. Police continue their search for the gunmen.
