Cancun, Q.R. — Three women said to be victims of forced prostitution were rescued by police this week. On Friday, local authorities reported on the rescue of the women during a Wednesday night operation.

According to police, the three Mexican woman were lured by promises of local hotel work, but became victims of human trafficking. They were moved around constantly by their handlers to offer sexual services.

The two men and one woman police say ran the service were arrested during the rescue May 7, 2026.

In custody are two men and a woman, Yuri Angélica “N”, of Cristian Gerardo “N” and Andy Jesús “N”, who are believed to have run the service.

Under court order, police raided a property in the Real Tikal subdivision of Cancun Wednesday night. They said the building where the women were found was used to house them.

It was from this building that, according to police, the women were constantly transferred to other places for the sexual encounters.

“According to initial investigations, the women were recruited by Yuri Angélica “N”, who, taking advantage of their economic hardship, invited them to come to Cancun under the promise of providing them with lodging and employment in the hotel sector,” they said.

Once in the city, they were forced to offer sexual services.

“At the scene, agents secured 55 cell phones as well as 56 envelopes with cell phone chips, micro SIM cards, a laptop, four payment terminals, nartocitcs and notebooks,” they added.

The operation was ran out of an apartment in central Cancun, which has been seized by the state. May 7, 2026.

The group operated from a bottom-floor apartment in a residential building.

Police say the woman, Yuri Angélica “N”, worked as a telephone operator and was in charge of coordinating the sexual services. She received part of the profits generated by the women who were forced to pay out half of what they charged clients.

The two men, Cristian Gerardo “N” and Andy Jesús “N”, worked as drivers to transport the victims to wherever the clients required them.

The three women were removed from the house where they were staying during the weekday raid. The three people who ran it remain in custody.
