Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police say a woman has been charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault, and torture of a minor. The official charges were laid Thursday against Claudia Patricia “N” to the detriment of her eight-year-old daughter, police said.
Members of the Specialized Group for Attention to Domestic and Gender Violence (GEAVIG) responded to a report stemming from an anonymous complaint of extreme child abuse at a residence in the Villamar I subdivision of Playa del Carmen.
According to the medical report, the minor presents effects of varying durations, consistent with multiple physical and psychological aggressions.
Police say their investigations link Claudia Patricia “N” to acts of neglect, including denying food to the minor, forcing her to perform excessive domestic chores, and keeping her locked up for several days.
Claudia Patricia “N” was arrested and official charged for domestic violence, aggravated assault, and torture against a minor. She has been ordered to remain in custody until her trial.
