Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon outside his home in the Punta Estrella. The attack was reported around 1:30 p.m. by residents who heard the gun fire.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, an adult male, with multiple gunshot wounds. An ambulance was called, however, the man died at the scene.
According to witnesses, those responsible escaped in a black SUV. The State Attorney General’s Office cordoned off the area while evidence was collected.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting. Residents have requested an investigation into how the assailants managed to bypass the private security checkpoints and reach the victim’s home.
