Tulum, Q.R. — A new route to connect the towns of Tulum and Cobá began Tuesday. The National Union of Transporters of Change (Untrac) started the new route to improve municipal interconnectivity.

Passengers can hop aboard the new 2025 model van at the station on Osiris Street and Tulum Avenue across from the Municipal Palace. The new intercity transportation route connects Tulum with Cobá and the transition zone, benefiting residents of communities with limited access to public transportation.
Moisés Pool, the Tulum Untrac General Secretary, says the new route is important for residents of the Mayan region who will now have an option for traveling to Tulum, Cobá and Chanchen.
“We are reopening this route which will benefit the people of these communities where transportation is limited. With this new unit, we guarantee safety and comfort for passengers,” he said.
The combi van will depart daily from Chanchen to Tulum in the morning, between 5:30 and 5:45 a.m. In the afternoon, starting at 5:00 p.m., the unit will return to the Mayan zone.
The Ejidal Commissariat and the Chanchen Delegate have assigned a specific space for the terminal of this new route, ensuring a fixed arrival point for passengers.
The Untrac representative emphasized that the new unit meets all the safety requirements required by authorities, including passenger insurance.

“It’s a safe means of transportation, supported by Imoveqroo and the transportation authorities. We invite Tulum residents and visitors to use this new route which represents a mobility solution for the area,” he said.
