Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Entrepreneurs and producers in Quintana Roo have received “Made in Mexico” certificates. The 14 certificates were handed out Wednesday representing official recognition of the quality, identity and export potential of local products.
The local entrepreneurs were presented with their “Hecho en Mexico” certificates by Governor Mara Lezama and Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón. With the certificates, these products also now have the “Made in Quintana Roo” certification.
The “Made in Mexico” certification is part of a national strategy to strengthen the Mexican industry and position Quintana Roo as a benchmark for innovation and sustainability.

“Today we are here because for many years, the legitimate aspirations of Quintana Roo entrepreneurs remained forgotten. There was no support for these products to reach other parts of the world, not even within our own state.
“Today we are achieving it. We are a different government, a humanist one working hand-in-hand with the people,” said Governor Lezama adding “it symbolizes the value of what we do here, the talent of our people, the strength of our entrepreneurial families, the essence of our identity.”

Mexico’s Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard explained that promoting the “Made in Mexico” label is part of “Plan Mexico” which aims to boost local production and consumption and successfully address the challenges of global economic change.
Ebrard also highlighted the importance of the “Made in Mexico” seal, reporting that 1,100 have been issued, guaranteeing the product’s quality and giving it a global identity.

The recognition of locally produced products is part of an institutional event dedicated to strengthening the region’s productive identity and consolidating its integration into national and international value chains, with a transformative vision and as part of the Mexico Plan promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
The companies recognized as “Made in Mexico” include Altsil, Playa del Bikini, Antal México, La Tradicional, Faymon, Chokilkin, Dicogra, Hilos del Mar, Levitex del Caribe, Mimetate, Café Damalo, Mande Patrón and Chicza.

On Wednesday, Governor Mara Lezama and Secretary announced a new fleet of electric buses for the city of Chetumal. The new buses, Taruk, are products produced in Mexico.
