Cancun, Q.R. — Search and recovery divers have found the body of a man reported missing in a Cancun lagoon. On Wednesday evening, emergency 9-1-1 received a report that the man had gone missing after going for a swim.
Family members who were with the man said he had entered the lagoon but failed to surface. Municipal police, firefighters, Civil Protection personnel, and paramedics responded to the report.
A drone was used during the search and rescue efforts, locating the man after he had already drowned. His body was seen floating in the lagoon, at which time, search and recovery divers entered the water.

The accident happened in a popular residential area used for swimming in the El Pedregal neighborhood of Cancun. Authorities have not provided information about the man other than he was around 35 years of age.
