According to police, Alexander “N” hit the motorcycle driver while driving his taxi on Lombardo Toledano Avenue on August 3. He is accused of invading the oncoming lane and causing the collision.

Police said rather than stop to help the victim, who was still alive, Alexander “N” ran over him, causing his death. The driver of the motorcycle, who has not been named, died at the scene.

“According to initial investigations, the suspect was driving without due caution and invaded the opposite lane, causing the front of his vehicle to collide with the motorcycle driven by the victim who was traveling from south to north,” police said in a report.

“Instead of stopping to help the motorcyclist, who was still alive on the pavement, the taxi driver ran over him, causing injuries that led to his death. He then fled the scene.”

Cancun authorities said Alexander “N” was arrested for the fatal hit and run on August 16 of this year. He has been ordered to remain jailed for the duration of his trial.
