Cancun, Q.R. — Local authorities say they have arrested the man seen on city surveillance stealing from a crime scene. On Monday, State Attorney General (FGE) head Raciel López Salazar, reported on the arrest of Jessy Vaer “N”.
According to his report, Jessy Vaer “N” stopped next to an SUV that had been in an accident in the Cancun Hotel Zone on the night of August 14. He is accused of stealing the jewlery from the men inside the SUV, both of whom were killed.
López Salazar said Jessy Vaer “N” is a Cancun taxi driver with the Andrés Quintana Roo Taxi Drivers Union. He reportedly stole valuables from the bodies of both of the deceased men inside the totaled SUV.
Jessy Vaer “N” was passing the scene in his taxi when he stopped, got out of his vehicle and climbed onto the wrecked SUV. He is alleged to have stolen two Rolex watches, two gold necklaces, two pendants, a bracelet, and a ring, items found on him during his arrest.
Two men were killed in the August 14 crash in the Cancun Hotel Zone after their vehicle slammed into palm trees. Speed is reported to have played a factor in the fatal single vehicle crash.
