Over a dozen ‘waitresses’ rescued from forced prostitution in Felipe Carrillo Puerto bar

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Police rescued 17 women from forced prostitution inside a Felipe Carrillo Puerto bar. Authorities searched the establishment over the weekend where they found the women inside.

Police said the women were initially hired as waitresses, but once at the establishment, they were forced to provide sexual services.

The State Attorney General (FGE) said they executed a search warrant at the bar where they located 16 Mexican women and one Venezuelan woman. All 17 were found to be victims of human trafficking in its form of prostitution.

The rescued took place Saturday night February 7, 2026.

“The court order, in which members of the National Guard and the Navy also participated, took place in an establishment that operates as a bar, located on 76th Street, where the 17 women were found working,” they said in a statement.

“Initial investigations suggest that the women came to work at the establishment as waitresses. Most are single mothers who need to provide for their families.

“At first, they only worked as waitresses, interacting with customers, but over time they were forced into prostitution.”

After the women were removed, the bar was shut down and remains under the custody of the FGE.
