Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun police chase has ended with the arrests of four people after they crashed into a National Guard barracks. The four from inside the car were taken into custody when the pursuit finally came to a screeching halt.

The vehicle, reportedly being driven by a Cuban man, was being pursued by police Sunday. The chase came to an end around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Tulum and Chichen Itza avenues when the driver slammed into a National Guard (Guardia Nacional) building.
Once stopped, all four from inside the car made a run for it on foot but were chased down and apprehended by police. They were arrested from the scene of the crash after a failed attempt to flee.

Initial investigations indicate that all four are Cuban nationals. The two men and two women from inside the car were reported related to illicit activities. Police did not say what those illicit activities were.
