Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Streets in more than 10 neighborhoods around the municipality of Isla Mujeres are being revamped. The upgrades in leveling and paving are part of an ongoing project to improve areas of the Continental Zone.
Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde says the paving projects being carried out in Cuiada Mujeres also include new sidewalks, cubs and public lighting.
Gómez Ricalde says City Council reaffirms its commitment to the transformation of Ciudad Mujeres through the comprehensive street paving program. She says the program will improve the quality of life of its inhabitants by providing new road infrastructure.
Currently, more than 10 neighborhoods are part of that comprehensive project. According to Gómez Ricalde, the revamp includes the paving of roads, the installation of public lighting with LED technology and the construction of curbs and sidewalks, all framed in the Ciudad Mujeres modernization project.
Among the benefited neighborhoods is Oasis where six internal streets are being paved. In the La Guadalupana neighborhood, seven internal streets are part of this transformation. Likewise, in La Rancherita, work is being done on the main access, and in the Urban Zone behind the Hugo Ravell Dome, the main avenue is being paved.
On Monday, work began on the main access road to the Matilde Petra Montoya school to benefit the families who travel through the area every day. The Mayor says that the improvements will not only transform the urban image of Ciudad Mujeres, but will also contribute to greater road safety for residents.
