Cancun, Q.R. — A man police say is the mastermind behind the murder of a union leader he worked with has been captured. Luis Fernando “N” is the accused mastermind behind the shooting death of a man he worked with for years.
State Prosecutor Raciel López Salazar announced the suspect responsible for the death of union leader Mario “N” has been arrested. Police have identified him as Luis Fernando “N” alias “El Inge”.
During their Monday press conference, authorities said “the motive for the murder was allegedly the suspect’s dissatisfaction with the union.” According to police, Luis Fernando “N” did not receive financial kickbacks or other benefits from the union leader.
These benefits, authorities said, were paid out to others but not Luis Fernando “N”. Police say a dispute over a parcel of Isla Mujeres land and the continuation of Mario “N” being Cancun union leader also contributed to his murder.
“Other reasons he likley ordered the victim’s death include that the victim allegedly robbed him of a piece of land in the Costa Mujeres area, and that he intended to continue leading the labor union, something the now-detained man did not agree with.”

Cancun union leader Mario “N” was shot to death while behind the wheel of his vehicle at a Cancun auto dealership in SM 42. Two subjects on a motorcycle targeted Marion “N” in the parking lot on August 4, shooting him seven times before fleeing.
As a result of the investigation, police were able to locate and arrest Luis Fernando “N” near López Portillo Avenue in Cancun.
“According to preliminary investigations, Luis Fernando “N” had been close to the victim for several years, having been his assistant and driver, which allowed him to learn about personal and professional activities.

Luis Fernando “N” he hired hitmen Ángel Yahir “N” and Arnulfo “N,” giving them money to stay in Cancun on August 1, three days before the murder, police said. Both men have already been charged, the former as the material perpetrator, allegedly having fired the firearm at the victim, and the latter for driving the motorcycle they were traveling on to commit the murder.
A third man, Oscar Guillermo “N,” another defendant, is also allegedly linked to these events.

“Through investigations, the Prosecutor’s Office located the Cherokee pickup truck in the state of Colima, which was allegedly used by the hitmen and the mastermind of the murder to monitor the movements of the deceased. The vehicle was transported to this municipality and seized,” police said.
