Cancun, Q.R. — A woman has been arrested in connection to the murder of an elderly man in Cancun earlier this month. The woman was searched for after neighbors reported seeing her running from the scene of the crime.
Authorities reported on the arrest of 54 year old Julia “N” in connection to the stabbing death of 57 year old Santos “N”. The pair were drinking in the home of Santos “N” on the night of September 9 when they began to argue.
The FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado) said during the altercation, Julia “N” allegedly grabbed a knife and attacked Santos “N”, who suffered various injuries that caused his death.
Based on investigations carried out by agents of the Ministerial Police of the FGE, the woman was located and arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the events.
The State Attorney General (FGE) said Julia “N” is being held in the Social Reintegration Center of Cancun. Her next hearing is scheduled for September 18.
On September 9, residents in the Valle Verde neighborhood of Cancun reported hearing screams coming from the home and later seeing a woman they accused of being the man’s attacker running from the scene.
Responding officers found the man dead from stab wounds.
