Cancun, Q.R. — A man who fled to Venezuela after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a Cancun man with a hammer has been captured. Authorities say Jordan Gabriel “N” is in the process of being returned to Mexico to face charges.
The 33 year old man was tracked down through an international intelligence operation through the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of the State of Quintana Roo. He was located in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) and Interpol Mexico.
Authorities say they were successful in arresting 33 year old Jordan Gabriel “N”, originally from Venezuela, in the municipality of Diego Ibarra, in the state of Carabobo, Venezuela.
The capture resulted from compliance with an arrest warrant issued against him for the crime of express kidnapping against a man identified as Luis Ángel “N”, for events that occurred in the city of Cancun.
According to the data provided by the Prosecutor’s Office, the victim was inside his home located in the Ical subdivision when Jordan Gabriel “N”, accompanied by two accomplices, entered the property and tied his hands and feet with industrial tape.
The FGE said during the attack, the perpetrators struck the victim in the head with a hammer and stole his watch, wallet, gold chain, and bracelets. They also made several bank transfers from the victim’s accounts totaling 350,000 pesos.
Following his location and arrest in Venezuela, the accused will remain in international custody while the competent authorities carry out the corresponding procedures for his extradition.
