Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A second C2 police building is being constructed for the municipality of Isla Mujeres. The building, once operational, will be connected with the C5 of Cancun and will provide increased security and faster emergency response times for citizens.
Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde said “it will be a modern building that, together with the one in the island area, will be connected to the C5 of Benito Juárez with advanced technology and respond to people in real time.”
This latest C2, which will be the municipality’s second, is located in Punta Sam in the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres. Governor Mara Lezama met with Atenea Gómez Ricalde Tuesday at City Hall to begin the construction project of what will be the new Command and Control Center (C2) of Costa Mujeres.
“Once linked to the C5 in Cancun, the C2 buildings will be the tool that allows us to continue building and establishing peace in Quintana Roo,” Lezama said.
Gómez stated that the project not only represents a significant advance in the security infrastructure of the state, but also reflects the unwavering commitment to the protection and well-being of the people of Quintana Roo.
Mara Lezama reported that this new C2 is being built with state investment and will have advanced technology for real-time monitoring of the entire area to evaluate and process the information collected, providing reports and recommendations for strategic decision-making to establish order.
The ground floor of the new building will have an administrative area, a general reception area, an entry and welcome point for visitors and staff. The second level will have eight private administrative areas, spaces dedicated to management, supervision and strategic, operational and planning tasks.
There is also a main office and a boardroom for high-level strategic meetings, an auditorium for training, presentations, conferences and institutional events and a multipurpose room for various activities such as drills.
