Tulum, Q.R. — A man taken into police custody for disturbing the peace in Tulum was found with an outstanding warrant. The man, identified as 33 year old Vicente García Caamal, has an outstanding arrest warrant for a weapons offence.
According to the SSC of Tulum, Vicente García Caamal was arrested Thursday evening on Tulum Avenue for allegedly assaulting two people. A woman and her son who were walking near the corner of Satélite Avenue called police on allegations of assault.
When police arrived, the man appeared to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and his identification ran through the Plataforma México system at which time a warrant came back for weapons charges.
Tulum police reported that the 33 year old man from Tabasco remains in custody.
“This Thursday, July 17, at 7:55 p.m., the Community Police responded to a report of a man disturbing the peace on Tulum Avenue and the corner of Satélite.
“The individual, showing obvious signs of intoxication, had allegedly assaulted a woman and her son, for which he was arrested by officers from this Secretariat. At the official premises, he identified himself as Vicente García Caamal, 33, originally from Tabasco.
“After a protocol check on Plataforma México, an outstanding arrest warrant was detected in the state of Tabasco for carrying prohibited weapons.

“The detainee was formally handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office through the Tulum Investigation Agency,” the SSC of Tulum reported.
