Hospital employee and wife of suspect part of arrests in Cancun robbery

Cancun, Q.R. — Three people have been arrested for the armed robbery of a private hospital in Cancun. Police say Belén del Carmen “N”, Rubén Darío “N” and Ronny de Jesús “N” are in custody.

All three were located after an investigation that included a review of hospital security cameras that showed them armed and entering the emergency area.

On Monday, the State Attorney General’s Office reported on their arrests. “Three people were arrested, allegedly related to the crime of robbery with violence perpetrated in a private hospital in the early morning of January 29 of this year,” they said.

“The now detained individuals are identified as Belén del Carmen “N”, Rubén Darío “N” and Ronny de Jesús “N”, who were captured thanks to investigative work and the review of security cameras which made it possible to determine that four people entered the emergency area of the hospital center, carrying firearms with which they threatened the private security guards.”

Police did not say who the fourth person was.

“After entering the building, two of the alleged criminals went to the cashier area where, with a hammer, they broke the glass door and then went to the cashier area where employee Belén del Carmen “N” was.”

Police say Belén del Carmen “N” was allegedly threatened by the armed group, however, she was arrested for being a likely accomplice in the robbery. She is reported by police to be the wife of Rubén Darío “N”, one of the armed men.

She is accused of “being in charge of providing information to commit the robbery, which, according to reports from hospital staff, was for an amount of 2.5 million pesos.”

Investigative Police officers and Municipal Police officers later located objects used by the assailants in the robbery in a field off La Luna Avenue. Police say the group is also connected “to the commission of extortion and robbery crimes,” but did not provide further information.

On January 29, 2026, the Galina Hospital in SM 12 of Cancun was the target of the early morning attack where armed men entered and made off with 2.5 million in cash.
