According to the State Attorney General (FGE), he was sentenced “for the crime of forced disappearance committed by private individuals against a woman and a man.”

Earlier this month, he was charged with the disappearance of Diana García Rivera and Jorge Armando Kiau, both in their early 20s. The pair were last seen inside a nightclub on Nichupté Avenue on February 22, 2020 in Cancun.

“Among the identified motives were personal conflicts, financial problems, and an attack the defendant suffered in April 2019, which he attributed to the male victim.”
