Tulum, Q.R. — The suspect in at least 14 murders in the town of Tulum has been captured. Jesús “N”, who local authorities refer to as a hitman and driver for a criminal group, was arrested over the weekend on Gama Oriente Street in central Tulum.
According to an Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) statement, Jesús “N”, alias “Fiscalito”, is alleged involved in at least 14 Tulum murders.
“Initial investigations indicate that the suspect is likely involved in events that occurred on May 6 of this year outside a home in the Maya neighborhood of Tulum where three people lost their lives and one more was injured by a firearm projectile,” the FGE (State Attorney General) reported Sunday.
“In addition, he is accused of the events that occurred on February 9 of this year at a beach club in Tulum where two people of foreign origin, an alleged male drug dealer identified by the alias “Belize,” and a female, lost their lives.
“Similarly, investigations reveal that Jesús “N” would have participated in the murder of a security guard committed on March 15 of this year,” the state agency added.
“The capture of Jesús “N” took place on Gama Oriente Street in Tulum along with four other people identified as Jacinto “N”, Heberto “N”, Leonardo “N” and Jorge Oliver “N”.”
All four were arrested on drug and weapon charges. The group were picked up by Investigative Police with small bags of narcotics believed to be marijuana, crystal meth and crack cocaine as well as a 9 mm firearm, a loaded magazine and a green tactical vest, among other items.
Since his arrest, an investigation into Jesús “N” established that “he currently works as a hitman and driver for a criminal group that generates violence in Tulum dedicated to the sale and distribution of drugs in the area,” local authorities reported.
