Cancun, Q.R. — Six women were rescued and two people arrested during a human trafficking raid in Cancun. Police executed two search warrants Saturday night in central Cancun where they located the women.
During the searches, a Cuban woman and an Argentina man were taken into custody in relation to running the operations.

In coordination with the Navy, National Guard and Municipal Police, police executed two search warrants resulting in the location of six women. The women, four foreigners and two Mexicans, were rescued from human trafficking in its form of prostitution.
The six women were located between two properties. One was in Las Fuentes Residential on Sagitario Street and Tepich. The second operation was carried out in a property in the Cibeles building.
“The agents involved in the raids located two Mexican women, two Venezuelan women, and two Paraguayan women, who, under the promise of a Cuban woman identified as Elvia de Caridad “N” and an Argentinian named Agustín “N”, were brought to Cancun to work in the tourism sector,” police said.
According to police, Elvia de Caridad “N” and Agustín “N” offered the financially vulnerable women plane tickets, lodging, and well-paid jobs.
Upon arrival in the city, they were forced to offer sexual services. Police said the pair also created catalogs with photos of the six women in lingerie, nude, and in suggestive poses, using pseudonyms and telephone numbers to create public profiles.
According to the initial investigations, Elvia de Caridad “N” acted as manager, telephone operator and coordinator of the sexual services. Police say she managed the profiles and received part of the money generated by the victims.
Agustín “N” was the person who collected the money paid by the clients. The six women were also forced to repay the initial debt of being flown to Cancun as well as pay for their public profile publications.

“In the raided properties, the officers seized evidence such as notebooks, video recording cameras, boxes of condoms, a payment terminal, cell phones and a Chevrolet vehicle.
Both Elvia de Caridad “N” and Agustín “N” were arrested from the scene during the Saturday night raids.
