Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Weekend searchers around the state resulted in the seizure of narcotics, stolen goods and illegal surveillance equipment. Police reported conducting a total of five raids in Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Bacalar over the weekend.
While three of the search operations resulted in locating only drugs, a fourth revealed illegal surveillance equipment and a fifth, stolen merchandise.

Personnel from National Defense, National Guard, the Navy and Municipal Police participated in the searches.
According to police, during their Cancun searches, one house was found filled with new household appliances. Inside, police seized three new refrigerators, three flatscreen televisions, one air conditioner, three washing machines, and a microwave oven.
An undisclosed amount of drugs was also found inside the house on Leona Vicario Avenue and 61st Street. Police did not say if the building was possibly being used to store stolen merchandise.
In Bacalar, authorities located seven surveillance systems inside a building. The building, located on 7th Avenue and 28th Street, was operating as a bar.
“In Bacalar, authorities executed another search warrant at a property located on Avenida 7, between Calle 28 and Calle 30 in the Mario Villanueva Madrid neighborhood, which was operating as a bar,” police said.
At the location, they seized seven video surveillance cameras as substances of marijuana, crystal meth, and powdered cocaine.
All five buildings were seized by the state due to their connection to illegal activity. Police did not report on any arrests during the five search operations.
