Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A capture request made by the United States Marshals Service has lead to the arrest of man. Mexican authorities say a 27 year old gang member is in custody for several murders committed in the state of Illinois.

On Monday, the State Attorney General (FGE) said the arrest of Jesús “N” was made on the mainland of Isla Mujeres. He was arrested following a collaboration request by the United States Marshals Service.
United States authorities made the request after they received information that fugitive Jesús “N” was believed living in the area.
The Attorney General of Quintana Roo, Raciel López Salazar, reported that the capture was made possible thanks to coordination between state authorities and U.S. security agencies who shared information about the possible location of the fugitive in Mexican territory.
FGE head López Salazar said Jesús “N” was arrested from Gastón Alegre López Avenue of Isla Mujeres without incident. He has since been handed over to the National Migration Institute (INM) for his return to the U.S.
According to U.S. authorities, Jesus “N” has been identified as a member of the Latin Kings gang and was wanted for 11 murders and attempted murders in the state of Illinois dating back to 2018.
