U.S. legal battle spills over into Mexico with arrest of Cancun company director

Cancun, Q.R. — A man who was videoed resisting arrest from his SUV in Cancun was taken into custody by National Guard Thursday. The arrest took place from the man’s vehicle while he was traveling on a central Cancun avenue around 4:00 p.m.

Two National Guard men struggled for 20 minutes to make the back seat arrest Thursday February 12, 2026.

The driver of his vehicle was intercepted at an intersection near Uxmal Avenue and the man in the back seat was eventually taken into custody.

He resisted arrest, clinging to the inside of his vehicle and forcing National Guard to physically remove him from the SUV. At least two National Guard personnel responsible for the arrest took 20 minutes to get him out of the back seat.

He was then videoed being carried from the SUV to a National Guard truck where he was officially arrested at 4:21 p.m.

After being forcefully removed from the SUV he was carried to a National Guard vehicle and placed under arrest February 12, 2026.

In custody is Eduardo “V”, the alleged Director of Dolphin Discovery. He is reported wanted for his involvement in a U.S. legal battle over the company.

According to available information, U.S. Dolphin Discovery shareholders have rejected him as administrator after allegations of $200 million USD in irregularities.

Those irregularities created a company debt.

On Thursday, the SSPC published the national registration of detention of Eduardo “V”. He was flown from Cancun to Mexico City where he was admitted into the system.

At the time of press, local authorities had not released any information regarding the arrest. The official reason for the detainment has not been announced.
