Suspect recruiting dealers online to distribute in Tulum bars arrested during four-search raid

Tulum, Q.R. — A man accused of trafficking out-of-state girls for drug distribution in Tulum was arrested over the weekend. Three girls, two of whom are teenagers, were removed from buildings used for drug distribution.

During the Saturday night operation, one man was taken into custody for human trafficking.

Police said David “N” was arrested as part of their operation that included a search of properties in the town of Tulum. A variety of narcotics were also seized from the buildings during the searches.

The four buildings raided were located on Kiss Street, Acuario Sur Street, Júpiter Street and Kukulkán Avenue in the town of Tulum.

Police reported finding a variety of narcotics during their searches that included marijuana, crystal meth, Tusi pills and powdered cocaine. Cell phones, bullets (gun not specified) and official documents were also seized.

David “N” was arrested during the first raid on Kiss Street where one female was also found. The other two women were located during the property search on Acuario Sur Street.

Police say initial investigations link David “N” to a criminal group that is dedicated to drug dealing. He is also “the person who allegedly recruited, transported, received and housed the victims in the town of Tulum, providing them with black clothing to identify them as members of the criminal cell to which he belongs,” they added.

“The rescued victims, who come from the states of Michoacán, Guerrero and Jalisco, were forced to distribute and sell drugs in bars and restaurants in the coastal area of this town under threats and constant surveillance by the now investigated.”
