State leaders hold talks on priority business and security issues

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Business leaders in the State of Quintana Roo have met to discuss progress on priority issues. Members of the Caribbean Business Coordinating Council met Friday. During the meeting, Governor Mara Lezama reaffirmed her conviction that coordination with the business sector is key to building a fairer, more competitive and safer Quintana Roo.

The group of local business personnel discussed economic growth, security, tourism, real estate, infrastructure and legislative reforms. Governor Lezama commented that the meeting reaffirms the commitment that they have and the strong support of her government.

“We are a government that listens carefully, that builds solutions hand in hand with all sectors, that promotes growth with justice,” she said.

After hearing from leaders of chambers, associations and business organizations, she replied “I know we still face challenges. I know there are issues that are painful to us as a society, and that we are addressing with a long-term vision. But I also know that in you we have brave, committed and willing allies.”

Lezama said that there is still much to be done, “but we also know that Quintana Roo has an advantage that few others have: a business community willing to collaborate, innovate and transform.”

Lezama said that thanks to this alliance, the infrastructure that drives Quintana Roo forward has been strengthened with more than 20 strategic projects throughout the state, from the Nichupté Bridge to Jaguar Park in Tulum and from road rehabilitation to the creation of new spaces for tourism, mobility, and urban real estate development. It was the fifth meeting held this year.
