Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure (IFEQROO) says they intend to build six schools around the state. The new schools will be located in Cozumel, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Othón P. Blanco, Benito Juárez, José María Morelos, Solidaridad, Tulum, Bacalar and Puerto Morelos and built to meet demand.

According to the Draft Basic Education Program 2025-2026, the state plans to build six new schools and construct 137 spaces, announced Aldo Andrés Castro Jiménez, the General Director of the Quintana Roo Instituto de Infraestructura Física Educativa de Quintana Roo (IFEQROO).
He explained that this new educational infrastructure planned for this school year will benefit thousands of students, teachers and administrative staff who will have decent and safe spaces for greater student learning.
Castro Jiménez indicated that this planning, which is being carried out together with the Secretariats of Education (SEQ) and Planning and Finance (SEFIPLAN) and other government agencies, will have variations, since in February there is a pre-registration program carried out by the SEQ and based on demand, the buildings will be determined exactly.
He pointed out that according to the preliminary project, it is intended to build six new schools with sports domes in the municipalities of Benito Juárez and Solidaridad, where school enrollment increases each school year, as well as 43 classrooms.

He added that the construction of 83 annexes is also planned with meeting rooms, toilets, offices, eight workshops and three laboratories.
He explained that new infrastructure is also being considered in the municipalities of Cozumel, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Othón P. Blanco, Benito Juárez, José María Morelos, Solidaridad, Tulum, Bacalar and Puerto Morelos, due to the demand for space.
