Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Royal Caribbean has announced the appointment of Ari Adler Brotman to lead the next chapter of growth and partnership with Mexico. As president of Royal Caribbean Group Mexico, Adler Brotman will oversee all aspects of the country’s signature destinations.

He will also collaborate with government, regulatory agencies, businesses, the community and residents to ensure that the Mexican experience and influence are cornerstones of Perfect Day Mexico and Royal Beach Club Cozumel.

“Ari’s experience in real estate development and his deep understanding of the region add value to our team as we seek to meaningfully deliver on our commitments in Mexico,” said Jay Schneider Royal Caribbean’s Chief Product Innovation Officer.

“Together we hope to generate tangible benefits for the country’s economic development, the environment, and the community for decades to come.”

“The foundation of Perfect Day Mexico and Royal Beach Club is a combination of rigorous sustainability principles applied throughout the company, including proven practices and advanced environmental technology and infrastructure,” the company said in a statement.

“Thus, both projects are based on solid environmental, economic, and community pillars that will generate a positive impact on the local communities where the vacation brand operates, while vacationers enjoy the brand’s unparalleled offerings with a touch of Mexico’s rich culture.”

As part of the company’s ongoing environmental commitment, Royal Caribbean has publicly committed to conserving 45 hectares of existing mangroves, protecting the Mesoamerican reef, safeguarding native species, including sea turtle nesting sites, building a new wastewater treatment plant and a solid waste treatment plant, achieving 100% green energy to power the site by 2040, restoring some impacted areas and more.

“I am proud to join a company like Royal Caribbean, which is not only committed to providing the best experiences to its travelers, but also does so responsibly, seeking local development, shared prosperity, and environmental preservation,” said Adler Brotman.

Adler Brotman has been appointed to oversee the Royal Caribbean Cozumel and Mahahual projects.

“My commitment is to guide all of the brand’s projects in the country so that they are successful, comply with regulations, improve local living conditions, and live up to the company’s values,” he added.

As part of his professional career, Adler Brotman has extensive experience in the development and management of both public and private projects and has extensive knowledge of compliance with the Mexican legal framework, allowing him to ensure that all activities related to the projects he leads comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

The vacation brand’s projects in the country are aligned with the SEA the Future program to ensure a positive impact on tourism, the community and the local economy.

In their statement, Royal Caribbean said Perfect Day Mexico alone will generate 2,000 jobs during its operational phase and 2,000 during its construction, and will prioritize the hiring of local talent. The vacation brand will open a hospitality training center in collaboration with the University of Quintana Roo and a grocery store, both in Mahahual.

Royal Caribbean is currently working on two mega-beach projects within the state. One is a $75 million USD beach club on the island of Cozumel. Royal Caribbean made the announcement in March of 2024. The Royal Beach Club Cozumel will welcome vacationers in 2026.

The second mega-beach project is the revamp of the Grand Costa Maya Port of Mahahual. Royal Caribbean bought the port and its surrounding land in a $292 million USD deal and officially became administrators of the port in July 2025. The initial investment will be accompanied by an additional $600 million, reaching a total of $821.3 million USD. Perfect Day Mexico in Mahahual is forecast to open in the Fall of 2027.
