José María Morelos, Q.R. — A Quintana Roo man wanted for the attempted murder of a woman has been captured in the neighboring state of Yucatan. Yucatan police say 64 year old Abraham “N” was arrested by their investigative agents on Thursday.
He was wanted for the February 2025 attempted murder of a José María Morelos woman after dousing her with gasoline and trying to set her on fire.
In a statement, the SSP Yucatan reported that investigative agents from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Yucatan (FGE), the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo, and with the support of federal forces, arrested Abraham “N,” 64 years old, originally from the state of Quintana Roo, in Yucatan.

The man had an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in the crime of attempted femicide against a woman in the municipality of José María Morelos, Quintana Roo.
According to the evidence gathered by the investigating authorities, the events occurred on February 6, 2025, when the victim was summoned to make a delivery.
Upon arriving at the agreed-upon location, she was allegedly violently attacked by an individual who attempted to kill her with a sharp object. Later, the assailant allegedly attempted to douse her with a flammable liquid with the intention of setting her on fire, however, the victim managed to escape and take refuge in a nearby house, preventing the attack from being completed.
Following investigative work and information sharing between state and federal authorities, the accused was located in Yucatan, where the arrest warrant was executed.

He has since been returned to Quintana Roo to face charges.
