Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The National Institute of Migration says that the state of Quintana Roo is now one of 10 where payment can be made by card. In a statement, the INM says people can pay their fines or immigration procedures with debit or credit cards.
The federal agency reported that “as part of our modernization process, you can now pay the fees for immigration rights with your debit or credit card. This process is now available at the service windows that are located within our facilities.”
Those facilities include Chiapas, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and Quintana Roo.
To make payments using Visa or Mastercard debit or credit cards, the INM requires an official identification that proves ownership of your bank card. Once the payment has been made, INM will provide a copy of your payment receipt.
In June of this year, the National Institute of Migration (INM) began the transition to allow people to pay with debit and credit cards. As of June 1, INM in Mexico City was the first office that accepted payment using national or international debit and credit cards.
