Quintana Roo first in country to launch mobile police reports

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Quintana Roo became the first state in the country to launch the Mobile Standardized Police Report (IPH). The Informe Policial Homologado (IPH) Móvil is a digital tool that modernizes police work and strengthens citizen security through the use of technology and interoperability between levels of government.

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa led the official presentation of the new system, which will allow security personnel to record their actions in the field more quickly and accurately from an electronic tablet.

The state is “joining forces with the public policy of President Claudia Sheinbaum, and in this way, Quintana Roo becomes the first state to be connected to the national system of detention registration and Plataforma México,” Lezama said Monday.

The Governor added that it gives the state the opportunity to continue strengthening actions of transparency, combating corruption and modernization or digitization.

In a video message, the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, Marcela Figueroa Franco, highlighted her recognition of Governor Mara Lezama for the work she is doing to build peace in Quintana Roo, which is reflected in a 68% reduction in homicides.

The Quintana Roo Secretary of Citizen Security, Julio César Gómez Torres, explained that the Mobile Police Report (IPH Móvil) is a digital tool that simplifies and expedites the recording of police actions, guarantees due process, and improves the quality of information for intelligence and security purposes. Four hundred officers have already been trained to use the technology.

He reported that previously, preparing a report could take up to 24 hours, while with this new technology, the time is reduced to approximately one hour, “avoiding delays, strengthening compliance with the law and combating corruption,” he pointed out.

The platform, which was developed by the Executive Secretariat of the State Citizen Security System to optimize operational work and promoted by the National System, allows the addition of photographs, videos and geographic location, which reinforces transparency and generates reliable information for decision-making.

Governor Lezama said “for those of us who are part of the transformation, fighting corruption and impunity is a deep conviction.”

The system connects Quintana Roo’s 11 municipalities with the state and federal government, linking directly to Plataforma México, which puts Quintana Roo at the forefront of national police modernization, the Governor asserted.

Among its benefits are improved emergency response, optimized patrols, real-time coordination between authorities, and the ability to generate reports directly from the scene.

Mara Lezama emphasized that the implementation of the Mobile Police Report (IPH Móvil) is part of the professionalization process for the state’s police forces.

“We are building a modern, well-prepared, honest police force that is close to the community,” she said adding “our strength lies in the fact that together we are building a strong and peaceful Quintana Roo.”
