Cancun, Q.R. — Mexico and Germany have announced a series of agreements in favor of both nations. On Thursday, President Claudia Sheinbaum met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
In a press conference from Quintana Roo, President Sheinbaum, accompanied by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, announced a series of agreements in favor of both nations.
The leaders agreed to strengthen multilateral organizations and the international order based on peace and cooperation for development, as well as to continue working together to achieve common environmental goals.

Both presidents led the meetings with members of both federal governments and the business sector.
He highlighted the interest of more than two thousand German companies in continuing investments in our country, reflecting 70 years of results.
The head of the federal government noted that German businesswomen and businessmen maintain joint work and communication with the Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs in order to strengthen the trade relationship.
“Today we have a new opportunity with the update of the trade agreement with the European Union which has already been agreed and is due to be signed around May of this year.”
In this context, he added that the agreement expands trade and economic relations between Germany and Mexico.
Given the international context, President Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of maintaining friendship and shared visions for well-being, after more than 70 years of bilateral relations.
“We are confident that all the Germans coming to the World Cup in Mexico will be warmly welcomed. Furthermore, it reminds us that sport is a great ambassador for peace.”
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier stated that Mexico is Germany’s most important trading partner in Latin America, and that they share values and interests of solidarity and friendship.
