Chetumal, Q.R. — State authorities have arrested a teenager for claiming to work for a bank in order to sell a house. Quintana Roo authorities have charged 18 year old Ángel Moisés “N” with real estate fraud.
Chetumal police were able to track down the teen impersonating a banking institution after his victim filed a complaint. Ángel Moisés “N” is accused of impersonating a bank representative in order to get a 150,000 peso payment.

Ángel Moisés “N” was picked up on an arrest warrant by Chetumal police Monday.
According to the investigation, “the accused presented himself as a bank representative to offer a house located on Flamboyanes Avenue within the Arboledas subdivision.
“Under this guise, he convinced the victim, identified as Nicanor “N”, to finalize the purchase of the property,” police said.
“The agreement resulted in the signing of a sales contract for 220,000 pesos. As part of the deal, the now-detained individual received an initial payment of 150,000 pesos, committing to deliver the property after covering the remainder of the agreed-upon amount,” they explained.
When the bank representative failed to deliver the property, the victim filed a complaint. An investigation revealed that Ángel Moisés “N” had no connection to the bank or any legal authority to carry out the transaction.
After gathering evidence, the State Attorney General (FGE) requested and obtained an arrest warrant. Authorities in Chetumal are continuing their investigation into other possible fraud schemes committed by him.
