New police security booth delivered for Tulum Hotel Zone

Tulum, Q.R. — Businessmen from Tulum delivered a new security booth that was built in the Tulum Hotel Zone. The new building will contribute to the reinforcement of public security in the hotel zone, Governor Mara Lezama said in a statement.

The building was handed over to the municipal government and the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR) Monday.

Governor Mara Lezama was invited to the opening of the booth which is outfitted with security cameras, a command office, medical dispensary, citizen service area, dormitory for 20 officers, toilets, food area, water, electricity, gas and internet services and four ATVs to monitor the hotel zone.

“This is a great step to work as a team, together with private society, businessmen, government, all hand-in-hand in building peace and tranquility. The objective is to take care of the citizens, of course the tourists,” said Governor Lezama.

This security booth is located adjacent to the Shibari Hotel. To formalize this delivery, an agreement will be signed between the group of investors, the Secretary of the Navy and the Municipality of Tulum.

Governor Mara Lezama was accompanied by the Director of the Shibari Hotel, Miguel Soto, as a representative of the business sector, David Mena, President of the Tulum Hotel Association, the Secretary of Citizen Security, Julio César Gómez Torres, the person in charge of the Office of the Tulum City Council, Fili Manances Tah Balam, and councilors.
