Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — The coastal area of the community of Calderitas continues with a rehabilitation project. On Saturday, Governor Mara Lezama presented the project, which she said will cost 42.7 million pesos.

Governor Lezama announced progress in the rehabilitation of the emblematic coastal area of Calderitas, where more than 42.7 million pesos are being invested for the well-being of more than 5,500 residents of the Othón P. Blanco community.
The space is now fully lit with 44 pole-top luminaires. The “Plaza del Mar” deck, a modern and secure area with 759 square meters of wooden flooring, is 85 percent complete.
The tourist pier is 40 percent complete, with the installation of 84 square meters of deck flooring and 38 luminaires. The wooden viewing platforms are 63 percent complete, and safety is being improved with the installation of railings and new lighting.
Governor Lezama said mobility and accessibility in the park are also being improved. The walkways and curbs are 59 percent complete, the parking lot is more than half finished, and the public spaces are 60 percent complete with new benches, pergolas, and children’s playgrounds.
“We are rehabilitating the restaurant district, providing improved electrical installations, new walkways, a renovated park, and lighting that will provide greater safety for those who visit and work here.

“With this project, we are not only beautifying Calderitas, but also boosting tourism, strengthening the local economy, and continuing to build a more prosperous and dynamic Othón P. Blanco,” the Governor stated.

“We are transforming public spaces with projects that improve the quality of life for everyone, such as this emblematic coastal area, which is a meeting point for families, tourists, and merchants in Calderitas, which had been neglected for more than 10 years,” Lezama said.
