More than 100 Quintana Roo National Guard trained as first responders

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — More than 100 Quintana Roo National Guard have been trained as first responders. The State Attorney General (FGE) taught the group in order to strengthen field actions as first responders.

National Guard members participated in the workshop “Interinstitutional Coordination for the Exercise of First Responder Functions”. The course was provided as part of the coordinated effort to better integrate investigative files for the benefit of the population who come to the Attorney General’s Office seeking justice.

The Special Prosecutor for Combating Crimes Committed by Public Servants, Juan Martínez Cruz, was in charge of this course, given to more than 100 members of the National Guard. He highlighted the interest of Governor Mara Lezama and the Attorney General, Raciel López Salazar, in ensuring that matters of security and the administration of justice in the state be carried out in strict adherence to the law and respect for human rights.

“With this workshop, we are reinforcing the proper conduct of the authorities with strict adherence to the legal framework, operating protocol, and respect for human rights.

The course taught personnel about “acts inherent to arrests in flagrante delicto, safeguarding the scene of the discovery, completing the Approved Police Report, National Registry of Arrests and Chain of Custody, under the command and coordination of the ministerial authority,” the FGE said.

The two day workshop was held April 28 and 29 in the auditorium of the Quintana Roo Federal Government (FGE) on Huayacán Avenue. The topics covered include Objectives and functions of the first responder, the purpose of the chain of custody, as well as recommendations for collecting, packaging, and labeling evidence, Approved Police Reports and crime scene preservation.
