Mexico City, Mexico — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador dedicated his last Cry of Independence to Mexican workers whom he described as “the best in the world. On Sunday night from the presidential balcony of the National Palace, the President exclaimed the traditional harangue shouting at around 11:00 p.m. Mexicans:

After the formal ceremony to commemorate the 214th Anniversary of the Cry of Independence, López Obrador, together with wife Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, watched the city’s drone light show that created the word “Gracias! “

Thousands of people gathered in the main Zócalo public square in Mexico City to bid farewell to President López Obrador as he waved the national flag from the balcony for the last time. Mexico City residents then enjoyed hours of various music including the country’s famous mariachi by the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the MS Band.
President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo along with the head of government of Mexico City Martí Batres Guadarrama, and members of the Cabinet, accompanied López Obrador during the national celebration.

In Quintana Roo, Governor Mara Lezama celebrated the Grito de Independencia with residents from the state’s capital city of Chetumal. More than 17,000 people gathered in the Chetumal square from where Lezama waved the national flag from the main balcony of the Government Palace.
Governor Mara Lezama, accompanied by her family, military authorities and state and municipal officials, waved the flag and rang the bell with the following speech:

The speech was followed by a light show and the presentation of the K-Paz de la Sierra group. Each mayor from all 11 municipalities in Quintana Roo participated in the annual Grito ceremony, this year, celebrating Mexico’s 214th anniversary of Independence.
