Tulum, Q.R. –Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo has laid the first stone for the municipality’s new Command, Control, Communication and Computing Center. The announcement was made Monday during a ceremony where project details were released.
“We began the first stage of the new Command, Control, Communication and Computing Center, a project that will transform security in our community with advanced technology.
“I appreciate the support of the Governor, Mara Lezama and the Federal and State Government,” Castañón Trejo said in a statement.
The new Command, Control, Communication and Computing Center will cost around 28.3 million pesos and benefit 33,000 residents with advanced technology for crime prevention, he explained.
“We appreciate the support of Governor Mara Lezama in this project that will make Tulum an example of peace and tranquility for our residents and tourists,” he added.
“With technology and intelligence we will continue to safeguard the integrity and safety of the residents and tourists of Tulum,” Castañón Trejo said Monday morning.
The construction of the building comes on the heels of the completion of municipal security arches around Tulum. Castañón Trejo said new Command Centre will monitor more than 500 video surveillance cameras being installed around the municipality.
He says the completed project will include real-time technology linked to Platform Mexico to identify people and vehicles involved in criminal activity. The new facilities will also have a Tourist Police area to support foreign languages.
The project is being worked on in coordination with Sedena, Navy, National Guard and the State Attorney General’s Office. The new Command Centre is expected to be operational for November.
