Cancun, Q.R. — A search warrant for a bar has lead to the rescue of 14 women believed victims of sex trafficking. Police say during the search, one man was arrested.

The women are “presumed victims of human trafficking in its form of prostitution of others,” they said adding that “a male was arrested for his probable relationship in the aforementioned crime.”
Members of the Navy Secretariat, National Guard and Citizen Security Secretariat participated in the weekend search of the property located on Miguel Hidalgo Avenue in SM 93.
The 14 women, police reported, were “all of Mexican nationality” and “were dedicated to recruiting and offering sexual services.” The bar’s manager, Domingo “N”, kept 60 percent of the girl’s earning. He was arrested during the search.
The bar was placed under the custody of this Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The evidence found, as well as the detainee identified as Domingo “N”, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the 14 women, due to their vulnerability, were transferred to the State Attorney General’s Office for their protection.
