Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were arrested and five rescued during a human trafficking operation in Cancun. The State Attorney General (FGE) said following investigative work, they requested and obtained a search warrant for a bar.
Inside,” they located five women, presumed victims of acts possibly constituting the crime of human trafficking in its form of prostitution of others, in addition to arresting two people for their probable relationship in the aforementioned crime.”
Personnel from the Navy, National Guard and Municipal Police participated in the operation at a property on Bonampak Avenue between 30 East and 36 East streets of Cancun.

The participating authorities located five women, four of whom are Mexican nationals, and one Guatemalan, who were engaged in soliciting clients and offering sexual services, for which the establishment took 50 percent of each service offered by the girls.
“During the operation, agents arrested Guillermo “N”, the alleged manager of the establishment, who was responsible for recruiting the girls. Raquel Rubí “N”, identified as the one responsible for collecting payment for the sexual services, was also arrested,” the FGE reported.
After the operation, Investigative Police placed closure seals on the premises, which is now under the custody of the State Attorney General’s Office.
