Bacalar, Q.R. — A five kilometer section of revamped federal roadway outside Bacalar is officially finished. Governor Mara Lezama confirmed the completion of the work Monday.

The Federal Highway 307 at the exit of Bacalar has been revamped in a joint project by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the federal government.
Approximately 17.7 million pesos was spent on the road, which is considered strategic for tourism, commerce and the daily mobility of thousands of residents.
“The work included replacing concrete, applying a seal coat, milling and laying a new seven-centimeter-thick asphalt layer to ensure greater durability and safety,” she reported.
During her Monday work tour, Governor Lezama said it is a heavily used highway, a road considered a vital artery for the southern region of Quintana Roo.
The rehabilitation directly benefits residents of Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Chetumal, as well as visitors exploring the state’s tourist attractions.

“With this rehabilitation, we improve mobility and strengthen economic development for the benefit of our people,” the Governor stated.
