Government of Mexico sets maximum gas price for next six months

Mexico City, Mexico — President Claudia Sheinbaum has signed an agreement with gas stations to set the maximum price of regular gasoline at 24 pesos. During her Thursday morning press conference, Sheinbaum said the agreement will last six months and is meant to ease the economic burden of Mexican families.

In order to protect the economy of Mexican families, Sheinbaum signed what she called a “historic” agreement with gas stations to set a maximum per liter price.

“Today we signed a historic agreement with gas stations to voluntarily set a maximum price of 24 pesos for regular gasoline. We are protecting the economy of families,” she shared on social media.

During her Thursday morning press conference, she explained that the agreement is for six months to be subsequently evaluated and subject to any changes. She also announced the participating stations who voluntarily joined in the program.

Participating gas stations around the country who have agreed to charge the maximum 24.0 pesos/liter for regular gas ($4.41 USD/gal) are: Hidrosina Plus Group, Combustibles y Refinados Burgos, Servicio Fácil del Sureste, Gazpro Group, Central Diesel Distributor of Vallarta, Petrodiesel del Centro, Mexico S Comercial, Petromax, Petroplazas, Syner Go, Rio Panuco Diesel Distributor, Petro Industrial, Ferche Group, Piru Station, Energiamas Group and Servicons Gas Stations of Mexico.
